2021 Veterans' Stories:

Daniel Stegall

Dan Stegall is an Army Veteran from Coal Valley, Illinois. He was drafted and served in the 1970s. Stegall was stationed in many locations including, but not limited to Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Vietnam.

After his time in the military, he returned home where he went to Black Hawk College. Stegall was very active in his church, during his freetime. He is now medically retired and has been married to his wife for 42 years! They have a 5 year old furbaby named Wrigley.

When Dan found out that he would be receiving a new shower through Baths for the Brave, he was relieved to know that bathing would become much easier and safer for him, as he has suffered from 13 fractures that never healed properly. He would like to thank his neighbor for nominating him for the program.

Richard “Koz” Kozeliski

Richard “Koz” Kozeliski is an Army Veteran from Des Moines, Iowa. He served from 1969-1971. Koz was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC and then served in the Vietnam War.

When Koz found out that he would be receiving a new shower through Baths for the Brave, he was happy to know the days of being nervous to step over his tub without falling will soon be a thing of the past. He would like to thank his sister for nominating him for the program.
